moosevox asked: What’s more important to a relationship: common values or other commonalities (like tastes in music, interests, etc.)?

Before I would have said other commonalities, now that I’ve been in a relationship that has lasted longer than a few months, I’m going to say you can’t really choose. They’re equal.

You need to find that person that can harmonize with your life, they don’t necessarily have to all be common because you can take interest in another person’s differences and maintain a healthy relationship. Though, if you think for a second that you can marry someone who doesn’t share the same basic values about life, you’re going to hit a lot of heartaches and headaches.
